Why Women's Worlds?
Women’s Worlds is a new flagship program from Teach About Women. Modeled on the New York Historical’s Women in the American Story Program, this free curriculum seeks to tell women’s stories on the global scale.
This free curriculum project will provide teachers and students in global history classrooms with the resources they so sorely need to have a complete picture of the human experience.
W.W. seeks to right a wrong and fill a gap so that the rich and dynamic work that historians of gender and women’s history can be brought out of academia and into classrooms and the public consciousness. Drawing on the latest research, these materials will encompass a diversity of women from all over the world and be organized into ten units, making them easy for educators to use them in their teaching.
By compiling a library of best-in-class educator resources, W.W. provides historical context for women’s current struggles to be taken seriously as speakers, writers, witnesses, providers, and leaders. Armed with this new knowledge, the next generation can continue the fight to build a world where we all stand on equal footing.
